Saturday, November 23, 2013- RTWGC International Sports Hall of Fame Dinner Gala
This annual event recognizes the athletes, coaches and sports pioneers from our region who have left their indelible stamp on the sports world. This year’s event will once again take place in the Grand Ballroom of the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno. Event organizers are planning on adding additional category awards as well as welcoming in the Hall of Fame Class of 2013.
Monday, October 7, 2013 – The Sky Tavern Junior Ski Program
Trainers will be hosting a golf tournament, barbecue dinner and silent auction beginning with a 11 a.m. shotgun start at Somersett Golf Course. Cost is $125 for an individual or $400 for a foursome and includes 18 holes of championship golf, cart, swag bag and barbecue dinner. The tournament proceeds support the nationally recognized non-profit snow sport program and enables Sky Tavern to continue its 65 year legacy.
Monday, October 14, 2013 – Thunder Canyon Golf Tournament
10 a.m. shotgun start. The $95 cost includes 18 holes of championship golf, cart, range balls, lunch, apres appetizers, a swag bag and a silent auction. All proceeds go to the PSIA-W (Professional Ski Instructor of America, West Division, a non-profit organization) for the educational foundation.
Major Boys Volleyball Championships in Reno
Summer will be heating up at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center during the Junior Olympic Boys national Volleyball Championships June 27-July 4. The weeklong event includes teams from all over the United States and its Territories to the tune of over 5,000 participants.
The Junior Olympic Boys tournament is the latest in a string of volleyball events attracted to the Truckee Meadows by the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority in conjunction with USA Volleyball. Reno first hosted the Junior Olympic Girls national Championships two years ago.
